Spain - Day 1
Almost four months later and here’s an update. I guess I have no excuse except life is in full swing?
Anyhow, Suz and I are in Spain right now, Sevilla to be exact. We’re staying on a giant hacienda. By giant, I mean one with a golf course, spa, five swimming pools, museum, and more. To say Sevilla is hot is an understatement. Supposedly it’s the hottest city/town in all of Europe somehow with temperatures reaching 125F during the summer. Right now we’re hitting 95 or so.
We had a hell of a time flying out (read: 2hr delay) on Sunday due to the rain. Because of that, we missed our connecting flight in Madrid. So we had to wait two hours later for another flight. Our baggages did not get lost due to the missed flight! Everything got transferred swiftly. Kudos to Iberia Airlines!
The first day we didn’t really do much except checking in and touring the city at night. We went to San Marco to eat dinner, which is across the street from a strip joint called Club Maxim. Awesome! However, no one in the group really was excited about it except me.
Things I noticed about Spain.
- Everyone smokes
- Everyone drives a hatchback
- Trashcans are very small
- There are round-abouts at every intersection
- People drive rather crazy, cutting people off is standard fare
You may be wondering why I’m typing this on our vacation. It’s actually the only way I’ll remember what I did later. I might as well share it with everyone.
